Dr. Rae-Anne Hovanetz was born and raised on the coast of Texas. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree from University of Houston -Clear Lake in Molecular and Cellular Biology, she attended veterinary school at Texas A&M University. She graduated with honors in 2014 with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. After graduation, Dr. Hovanetz worked as a mixed animal practitioner in rural east Texas. In fall of 2015, Dr. Hovanetz and her husband moved to Colorado to pursue the outdoor lifestyle it has to offer. Doctor Hovanetz’ professional interests include geriatric medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. Cats have always been her favorite species to work with and she is thrilled to be a part of the Carefree Cats team!
Dr. Hovanetz is married to her husband Chris and they have one daughter, Alex. They share their home with 4 furry children- Oso, a diabetic black kitty; Skippy, a big grey jock of a kitty, Dante, a rambunctious black rescue kitten and their outdoor rescue kitty Rocky who is the sweetest orange boy in the world.
In her spare time (not much of that these days) Dr. Hovanetz enjoys trail running, making home-made salsa and Tex-Mex, and painting.
