Routine examinations are the mainstay of keeping your feline healthy and care free. Because cats are masters of hiding their illness, it’s critical we see your babies AT LEAST yearly, if not every 3 to 6 months as they get older. This is especially true if your cat develops any of the common medical problems we see like diabetes, thyroid disease, gastrointestinal problems like vomiting and diarrhea, or kidney and bladder issues.
And if you’re concerned about how stressed or anxious your babies get when they have to come to see us, read about how we help eliminate the anxiety and fear during your visit to our hospital.
During every visit, we…
- Perform overall exam
- Check the teeth
- Record your cat’s weight
- Discuss changes in diet
- Address behavioral issues
- Evaluate for signs of pain
- Answer all your concerns
Your cat’s teeth are one of their most important organs and also one of the most common places we see problems. Over 70% of all cats over the age of 3 have some degree of dental disease; from simple plaque and tartar build-up to teeth that are literally dissolving right in their sockets. Much different from people and dogs, dental disease in cats often starts under the gum line and will have destroyed most of the tooth before we can even see it on exam. We offer a full range of dental treatments, from simple cleaning and polishing to full mouth surgical extractions.
And you don’t have to worry while your cat’s getting its dental treatments. We use safe, Isoflurane gas, monitor your cats’ vital signs constantly with surgical monitors, have an IV line running with fluid support, and keep them toasty warm with warm buddies and circulating warm water pads throughout their procedure.
Our dental services include…
- Cleaning and polishing
- Digital xrays
- Surgical extractions
- Vital signs monitoring
- IV fluid administration
- Aggressive pain control for any painful condition

Medical and Behavioral Counseling
Elder Cat Care
Not all cats age the same. Once your baby reaches 10 years old, she may already be developing serious problems associated with aging. We’re very conscious of managing chronic disease and especially pain our in older cats. Routine blood screens and other diagnostics are critical to finding problems before they become unmanageable.
Our ultimate goal is to keep your babies as healthy and comfortable for as long as humanely possible.
Nutrition and Diet Consultation
Improper food is at the heart of most of the medical problems that’ll come up with your cats. Diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, arthritis, and obesity are all created and worsened by poor diet.
We’re experts at developing the right plan for your babies, no matter what the issue. And suprisingly, we’ll often recommned a high quality commercial brand rather than an expensive prescription one. You can make a difference in your cat’s life!
The most common reason cats are given up for adoption is unacceptable behavior. Whether this is destructive clawing or not using the litter box, we have very simple solutions to help.
Please don’t give up on your baby until you talk with us about your problems! There are simple solutions and options for you to try, let us help.
Obesity is one of the most common problems we see in our domestic cats and we take a very active role in helping you bring the weight down.
Because fat cats are much more likely to get diabetes, arthritis, and liver disease, we take this all to common problem very seriously. Let us work with you to fix this “huge” problem!
Cats are predators by nature and hide their stress and disease so they don’t become prey themselves. But hidden stress will show itself in many ways if you’re observant:
- Urinating outside the litter box, often with blood in urine
- Diarrhea, constipation or other GI disturbances
- Excessive grooming, licking, and scratching
- Hiding and isolating from family members and other cats
- Talking and vocalizing excessively
- Not eating as well and sleeping more than usual
- Being more aggressive and reactive toward other pets and people
Our focused approach to stress reduction…
- Gentle, fear-free handling while in clinic
- Thorough evaluation of potential causes
- Holistic treatment with natural products and supplements
- We work closely with you to correct household stressors and provide effective treatments.
